The 2012 Arctic Winter Games will cost $6,105,000, says a bid package prepared by city officials.
The city will pony up $400,000.
Sponsorship, merchandising and contributions from the territorial and federal governments will provide the rest.
The $400,000 coming from city coffers is equal to 2000, when Whitehorse hosted the Canada Winter Games.
The Arctic Winter Games could mean a 2.5 per cent increase in taxes, reported administrative services director Robert Fendrick in September.
