Goodie Sparling did us proud on Yukon Day!

It was a sight I will never forget. As part of Air North’s Yukon Day charter this past Saturday, our whole group of more than 100 ended up walking through the streets of Vancouver to look at the Olympic Cauldron at night, which is spectacular. Amongst thousands of cheering Canadians, Goodie Sparling, walker in hand, moved with us as we navigated our way through the crowds.

Her determination to be part of the Canadian spirit was very impressive and no easy feat. Our Yukon signs and scarfs had people calling out, “Hey, Yukon!” to our responding cheers. Even the Vanoc crowd-control “callers” on their megaphones announced to those on the street Ð “There is Yukon!” It was lots of fun!

Congratulations to Air North for a great trip and to all the hardworking Yukoners at Northern House, the Aboriginal Pavilion and the performers at BC Place who presented in front of 15,000 people for Yukon Night. Take a bow, you deserve it!
