Re Stuck in a Moment (editorial, the News, February 27):
I feel I must protest your opinion of the Whitehorse Transit system.
Using the Crestview bus route as an example of ridership is not fair. I live in Riverdale and use the bus several times a week to go downtown, and these buses are usually more than half full.
It is a mistake to think that the bus service is around merely to take people back and forth to work. It is an absolute necessity for those of us who, for whatever reason, don’t drive a car.
People who criticize the bus system as unnecessary should look ahead to the day when their circumstances could change, and operating a car is not an option.
