The morning of March 10, Ned Cathers from Cathers Wilderness Adventures dropped me off in downtown Whitehorse to pick me up to take me to the airport a couple of hours later; I had spent a weekend out at Cathers’ place mushing – fantastic.

I looked around Main Street a bit and then felt like a coffee. Walking into Baked, I realized that I had left my wallet in my luggage, and the luggage was in Ned’s truck. Now what?

I remembered Ned saying he was going to Canadian Tire. I stopped two young ladies, coming out of Baked, and asked them where Canadian Tire was, at the same time telling them my predicament. The young ladies were quick to tell me that it was too long of a walk, and no, I could not talk them out of it, both reached into their purses and gave me money to buy myself a coffee. Young ladies, thank you again!

I have travelled a lot in my life, all over the world, and it is moments like this that make you realize what a wonderful world we live in.
