We are all “rich Europeans” to the real Yukoners.
The aboriginals of the Yukon are the only ones who should be deciding the fate of this land. We outsiders need to respect what they want for its future.
They want the Peel to be kept away from future development. That is a good step to preserving the future.
There has been enough permanent destruction in other locations in the Yukon. Mining does irreversible damage to this land with very little to show in return.
I do not wish to see the Yukon turn into another Alberta.
There is very little respect for the land in that province. Greed makes people blind to the truth.
The truth is the Yukon needs a future free from mindless exploitation.
I respect the Yukon and the people who want a future for it.
