On the City of Whitehorse website several weeks ago it showed that the city had a budget shortfall of $3.3 million dollars. I hope mayor and council are working on reducing our taxes by two per cent, not increase them by over 12 per cent.
The City of Whitehorse has met its tax threshold and it should not be increased. City staff can only do so much; they need direction from mayor and council. So what direction are you giving the hard-working city staff to get the budget in balanced and reduce taxes?
I would like to hear at the next council meeting what direction they are taking so that municipal taxpayers can voice their opinion? And why is mayor and council spending so much time on housing, when they are not looking after their own house - City of Whitehorse public business?
