The churches of Whitehorse would like to thank the people of Whitehorse for their very generous support during last week’s annual food drive in support of the Whitehorse Food Bank. Stephen Dunbar-Edge, executive director of the Whitehorse Food Bank, described the food drive as “very successful,” leading to full shelves for the moment.

That the food drive was able to cover most of the city was due to the participation of 14 churches, a non-denominational group, First Porter Creek Scouts, Venturers and Rovers and their respective leaders, friends and students of Vanier Catholic High School, and the many individuals who were willing to distribute and collect the grocery bags, and then to sort and stack the food when it arrived at the food bank. Thanks to all of you.

We would also like to thank Willow Printers for their very kind donation of labels and posters, Super A Porter Creek for the bags, and the media for promoting the event.
