My name is Vicki Durrant and I am the executive director of the Youth of Today Society.
I have worked with the youth in this community for 10 years and though the youth from back then have changed, something terrible still remains the same. And that is the sexual exploitation of young vulnerable girls.
This letter is directed to the men in our community who are sexually taking advantage of young girls.
You know who you are, and there must be a part of you that knows that what you are doing is causing a lifetime of emotional damage. And if this hasn’t crossed your mind I hope that this letter reaches that part of you.
I have heard stories from some of the young girls who have exchanged sexual acts for a ride or for drugs and alcohol.
Their stories break my heart and for some reason I feel like we are not doing enough to keep them safe.
So this letter is directed to you in hopes that you will realize the pain you are causing them.
They may act as if they are willing, but you know it is wrong.
I ask of you to please stop!
