Open letter to Premier Darrell Pasloski:

I support the democratic process and the tremendous input from all concerned parties to produce the Umbrella Final Agreement, which speaks for all of the various regions of the Yukon and how to conduct development.

Consequently, we have the commission’s final recommended plan for the Peel watershed. Don’t throw a wrench into the works with your recent consultation process: protect the Peel!

As leader, your job is to hear the will of the people: protect the environment and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. For you and a select few to do otherwise is disrespectful, autocratic and financially wasteful.

The writing seems to be on the wall: from grassroots movements to dissent in the Yukon legislature. Maybe take a cue from Ottawa: those F-35s aren’t going to be flying any day soon for Canada. Sooner or later, the truth is made known.
