Peace for Syria 'cause

Peace for Syria 'cause My seven-year-old son, Feidhlim, and I were reading this morning about Dr. Jacques Beres in the Yukon News.

My seven-year-old son, Feidhlim, and I were reading this morning about Dr. Jacques Beres in the Yukon News.

We were learning about how he smuggled himself into Syria to be a doctor for some of the Syrians who are being attacked by their government. We read about the kinds of wounds these Syrians get from sniper shots and shrapnel.

Feidhlim would like to share his ideas with you:

“Who started this big fight? If I knew who started that big fight, then I’d know who to protest. ‘Cause I’m thinking:

Was it the government who started the fight or was it the people who started the fight?

“It’s selfish if the government doesn’t listen to the people. There’s only one government and more people. But the government is stronger than the people. So the people will just get killed. I don’t like that. Probably no one likes that. Even the government - deep down in his heart - says, ‘I like these people. But I don’t want to step down.’

“The Canadian army should go and help the people. Since we’re in peace, the Canadian army should go around helping other people who aren’t in peace. ‘Cause seriously.”

Feidhlim and I hope the Syrian people have peace soon and send them our love.
