I so appreciated Al Pope’s article, What Are We Fighting For? in your Friday, May 8 edition.
Disturbing information about what is really happening in Afghanistan, and Canada’s unacknowledged part in furthering a very corrupt administration are hard to accept, but, as Pope says, “It hasn’t worked, it won’t work and we must stop it now.”
We must see our involvement there for what it is, and stop sending our young recruits to be victims and perpetrators of this terrible situation.
