Mining made good

Thank you, mining, for finding and refining the gold, silver, and bronze (an alloy of copper and tin) that went into making the much sought after spectacular Canadian Winter Olympic medals.

Thank you, mining, for finding and refining the gold, silver, and bronze (an alloy of copper and tin) that went into making the much sought after spectacular Canadian Winter Olympic medals.

And thank you for finding and refining all minerals now essential to our everyday lives yet so much taken for granted - the essential refined minerals that go into building our airplanes (and the new Canada Line Skytrain) allowing thousands of visitors to reach downtown Vancouver and the Olympian games in safety and comfort.

Thank you for finding and refining the essential minerals used in TV and computer components, allowing some 6 billion people around the world, including 33 million Canadians, to watch their favourite Winter Olympic Games in the comfort of their own home. And thank you for helping us build Canada into a great country.
