Open letter to Green Party Leader Elizabeth May:
Knowing what we know about the destructive health and ecological impacts of the animal-use industries, I was very disappointed to see a photo in the paper of Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party, serving “smokies and burgers.”
Our environment is under huge pressures from climate change, destruction of natural habitat, water pollution and so on, all of which are significantly worsened by the meat industry and the allied industries of dairy, eggs, fish, and feed crops. If anyone should be taking a firm stand on this issue, it’s the Green Party.
Are you not willing to address these serious issues and take the lead ahead of the other parties, which also avoid this issue like the plague?
Maybe I was mistaken, and you were flipping veggie burgers.
