Open letter to Premier Darrell Pasloski and Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Brad Cathers:
“Open letter” always sounds so menacing, doesn’t it?
Well, this one isn’t meant to be. It was amazing when I learned that oil and gas won’t be developing in the Yukon Basin in the next five years. Would’ve preferred 50, but hey.
It may surprise you to learn that some of us do a fair bit of groaning about the ‘unresponsiveness’ of government. Guilty. I really didn’t think this majority government would listen to the people on the street on this one, but they did.
And for that, you both deserve a big round of applause.
Thanks, guys. My confidence is restored. And I hope that unlike so many others with political power, you will continue to keep an ear to the ground and respond in like fashion to the people of the Yukon.
It’ll be hard to dislodge a leader who listens to the people.
