I believe this photograph taken by E.J. Hamacher, the early Whitehorse photographer, shows the interior of the Burns Building that still stands on Main Street.

It is the only early building still standing pretty much intact on Main Street. It dates back to 1905.

The White Pass depot building is old, but it has been altered through the years. In the above photograph, we see the Main Street butcher shop all decorated up for Christmas, but we don’t know the year.

It is a very nice photograph.

Hamacher documented much of early Whitehorse and area history with his camera.

Photograph from the Yukon Archives.
