The troubling circumstances associated with Raymond Silverfox’s death and the subsequent coroner’s inquest demand that all Yukoners, regardless of race or political affiliation, clearly expect the Yukon government to do the only right thing and immediately order a full public judicial inquiry.
A failure to do so is an abdication of the government to ensure the integrity of both the policing and justice systems that are fundamental to our democratic institutions.
Coverups only promote the all-too-prevailing cynical attitude in our society.
Do the right thing, and do it now.
