I would like to commend Joseph O’Brien, former Crow councillor of Little Salmon/Carmarks First Nation, and Lorraine O’Brien, a member of Little Salmon/Carmacks First Nation, for speaking out publicly against family violence; this type of courage ultimately saves lives.
As politicians, First Nation or non-First Nation, our greatest obligation is to do what is needed to improve the lives of others.
I wish Joseph O’Brien well in his future endeavours and congratulate him for being the kind of politician who is not afraid to take a stand for what he believes in, regardless of the personal cost.
And I also want to publicly recognize Lorraine O’Brien for adding her voice to this important cause.
