Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Yukon Inn there will be an annual meeting to re-establish a Yukon division of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

The Yukon is the only jurisdiction in Canada presently not served by a branch or division of the CMHA, which provides an invaluable service and support in conjunction with mental wellness.

A considerable number of dedicated and committed volunteers have been working towards a sustainable division of the CMHA to serve all the Yukon since the fall of 2010 with the great support of a sub-committee of the Yukon Anti-Poverty Coalition (YAPC) enthusiastically co-chaired by Patricia McGarr and Sue Edelman.

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank YAPC and in particular the co-chairs Ross Findlater, Bill Thompson and Reanna Mohammad, as well as their hardworking co-ordinator Kristina Craig for their support for me personally.

Please do come out and get involved.
