I worked for the Little Salmon/Carmacks First Nation at the time of the Alaska incident, and never once was I told not to speak out. A community is only as strong as the people who live in it.
It is up to the Little Salmon/Carmacks First Nation to come together and decide, as one, what should happen. This being said, there is a general meeting being held in Carmacks on Saturday, November 6. So, until then, nothing can be done.
It is really irritating that anybody who has a personal problem with Little Salmon/Carmacks is taking this opportunity to publicly attack the First Nation as a whole. Lorraine O’Brien wants her fellow citizens to speak out à well my name is Kayla Mintz, I am from the Little Salmon/Carmacks First Nation, and I will never be ashamed of where I come from, or to wear my logo.
