Humane Society Yukon and the Mae Bachur Animal Shelter have been facing some financial difficulties. Thanks to our friends and partners our future now looks much brighter.

We’ve had three fundraisers so far and they were well attended.

Many thanks from our volunteers and staff to all the people who donated, sponsors who contributed prizes and those who bought from us. We’ve taken in over $8,000 dollars to keep the shelter open.

This Saturday we will be bagging groceries at Extra Foods. Come in, let us bag your groceries for a donation and leave the HSY your receipt as Extra Foods gives a donation for all we collect.

On April 29 the society will be having a special general meeting to have the financial statements approved by the membership so we can once again gain our good standing with the government of Yukon. Everyone is invited.

The meeting will be held at the Canada Games Centre in the board room at 7 p.m.

See you there. The animals thank you.
