Open letter to New Democratic, Liberal, First Nations and Yukon Green parties:
Friends, the need to unite has never been more urgent than today.
With the Yukon territorial election happening in less than two weeks, I’ve thought about, “Who should I vote for?”
To add complexity, I asked myself, “Who should I vote for so my vote counts?” Strategic voting.
With four people-oriented parties, the choices are plentiful.
Of course, these four parties all differ, but they have many similar values that I want to see in my government.
Most of all, I don’t want to see the Yukon Party get in for another term.
After endless thinking and conversations, I will have to choose one of these four parties. Another person with the same values and logic might choose a totally different party. Yet, we will both be disappointed. Division is a recipe for catastrophe.
Many Yukoners want a change in government, but it won’t happen until we all unite.
Friends, the present government wins on our division.
