For shame

Yukoners need to support Helen Hollywood and the other participants who have formed a tent city on the lawn of the Yukon legislature. Their actions are a courageous stand against a government that has consistently failed to meet the basic needs of its people.

The Yukon government has had ample opportunity to solve the housing crisis. With such a massive yearly budget for such a small population, we have a disproportionate number of people that are marginalized and living in abject poverty.

When a government fails to meet the basic human rights of its citizens, then I believe that it is our duty to challenge it.

I invite Yukoners to join Tent City. Donations of food and supplies, more campers, and more tents are all welcome. Visitors are encouraged.
