The Whitehorse Food Bank today has fully stocked shelves of canned and dried foods after the Annual Food Drive by Whitehorse churches. A huge thank you to the people of Whitehorse for their generosity. Thank you also to the hundreds of volunteers from the 15 Whitehorse churches and one nondenominational group who distributed and collected the food bags and to all those individuals from the organizations, businesses, and churches who pitched in to sort and stack the shelves at the Food Bank. Grateful thanks to Julie Menard, manager of the Whitehorse Food Bank, for her organizational skills and enthusiastic support.

The following businesses also offered generous support: Willow Printers, for the labels; and Sam Jurovich of Super A Porter Creek and Scott McCarthy of Super A Riverdale, for the bags. And finally, the media Ð CBC, CKRW, CHON-FM, Whitehorse Star and Yukon News Ð for publicizing the event.

Thanks for all your efforts. For the immediate future, the less-fortunate members of our community will benefit from your generosity of spirit.
