Today, the Whitehorse Food Bank has fully stocked shelves of canned and dry foods after the Annual Food Drive by Whitehorse churches.
A huge thank you to the people of Whitehorse for the generosity of their response.
Thank you also to the hundreds of volunteers from the 15 Whitehorse churches who distributed and collected the food bags, and to all those individuals from the organizations, businesses and churches who pitched in to sort and stack the shelves at the food bank.
Grateful thanks to Christine Herlihy, of Maryhouse, for her sage advice and organizational skills.
The following businesses also offered generous support: Willow Printers, for the labels; and Sam Jurovich of Super A/Bigway and Scott McCarthy of Super A, for the bags. And finally, the media – CBC, CKRW, CHON-FM, Whitehorse Star and Yukon News – for publicizing the event.
Thanks to all for your efforts.
For now, the less fortunate members of our community will benefit from your generosity of spirit.
