Al Pope’s Nordicity column regarding the utility of Canada’s multi-billion-dollar purchase of fighter aircraft from the United States intrigued me. How profligate would our government’s recent action seem if the Chinese were ever to field leaders like former US presidents Lyndon Baines Johnson or George Walker Bush?
