Kathy, I think that the issue most of us have, isn’t with the Catholic school itself, or the Catholic faith in general. I think the main issue is that it’s our tax dollars that are being spent to promote intolerance.

Stop the public funding of the school, and allow them to educate our youth (those who choose to go there) based on their religious beliefs - whatever those may be. I’d have no issues if someone opened a Jewish or a Muslim school. But I wouldn’t want my tax dollars spent funding it.

The same goes for Vanier. If they want to continue teaching as per their faith, then by all means allow them to do so. Just not with my tax dollars. Vanier and the Catholic clergy have a decision to make. Either follow the policy of the Yukon Department of Education, or pony up the approximate 18 million dollars annually it receives from the government budget.
