Re: “Time to stand up against anti-vaxxers” (Pointed Views, Feb. 4)

Underlying the vaccine debate, is a much bigger issue! It is the freedom to be the master over your own body.

The minute we render this power to an outer force, be it the government, doctors, pharma or the World Health Organization, we’ve become slaves to those people or organisations.

If we even begin to accept the idea that the government owns our bodies, it can only be a downward slope.

At the moment, it seems there is massive media coverage of this issue, in a one-sided manner, which is instilling fear and trying to make the case (even if subtly, as in this article) for mandatory vaccinations, citing our own (or the herd’s) good.

Hitler’s genocide was framed similarly: as a program “for the betterment of society,” and was supported by scientists at the time.

What comes after mandatory vaccinations? Forced chemotherapy? This has been in the media as an issue recently. Next, maybe sterilization of people with a cognitive disability?

Where would that kind of legalized medical tyranny end?!

People, wake up before it is too late! There is much more at stake than the issue of vaccinations.

We are about to lose one of our (or maybe the) most important human rights: to choose what happens to our own bodies, and the right to decide this for our own children.
