I would like to send out a friendly reminder to everyone to please obey the law regarding not using your cellphones while driving. I’ve almost been hit by people driving and talking on their phones and not paying attention to the road.

I would also like to suggest a change to the law that would allow people in the Justice Department to take the step of not allowing a driver to own a cellphone if they continue to break this law. I know this would be difficult and the phone companies would have to agree to suspend the driver’s cellphone contracts for a certain amount of time. This would be similar to someone who has committed a violent offence not being allowed to go to bars or own a weapon.

I don’t want to see anyone get hurt or killed because someone thinks they can get away with breaking this law. Steps need to be in place within the justice system to stop the people breaking this law and continuing to risk the lives of pedestrians, people on their bikes, and other drivers.
