I don’t do politics, and I admit when it comes to dealing with what I perceive to be BS my “PC” filter rarely works. I was raised with the ideal that a man has to earn your trust and to not to blindly put your trust in the position he holds.

I am a 10-year member of the Volunteer Ambulance Services Society as overseen by Yukon Emergency Medical Services and the Department of Community Services.

In the past couple years we have had a manager and a minister who worked harder than most to make sure that rural EMS and its 150 volunteer members had uniforms, equipment, education and training brought up to a standard equal to that of the Whitehorse paramedic crews. They largely succeeded.

I would like to thank Michael McKeage and Brad Cathers for not only trying to bring rural EMS into the present but for making us feel like we matter. For this you have earned both my trust and my respect. Thank you.

I am sorry that the general public and the rest of our MLAs were unable to see the good things you did for our service.
