We at Austring, Fendrick & Fairman are committed to contributing to the well-being of the environment.
Over the past four years, AFF has been recycling shredded paper, cardboard and plastic. Anything that can be recycled, we do. In 2012 AFF recycled over 280 extra-large garbage bags of shredding alone. Now what about compost? Is it possible for businesses to compost? Why yes, of course! AFF has a successful composting program. Each year approximately 550 pounds of waste has avoided the landfill.
A special thanks to Blackstone Environmental Service for their friendly service and weekly collections. It is easy to start your own composting program. All you need is a few blue bins for your washrooms and kitchen and if you use paper towels or have waste food, (even coffee grounds and tea leaves), a garbage can with a lid to keep the smell in (while you are waiting to dispose of it).
Also we have a box at everyone’s desk where they can throw all their paper in for the recycle bin. It is surprising what businesses throw out and how much you can avert from the dumpster, all at a reasonable cost. Your staff will appreciate it and you are doing the planet a world of good at the same time!
