A great old photograph of Carcross, formerly called Caribou Crossing

This old black-and-white photograph was taken by Mickey McCarthy. It's one of the nicest old photographs I've seen of Carcross. The photograph was probably taken in the 1940s.

This old black-and-white photograph was taken by Mickey McCarthy. It’s one of the nicest old photographs I’ve seen of Carcross.

The photograph was probably taken in the 1940s. Notice the Matthew Watson Store looks to be in two sections, and just past the Caribou Hotel in the centre of the photo seems to be another hotel or something.

Mickey McCarthy took many wonderful photographs, including some great steamboat and Yukon town shots.

The steamer Tutshi is on the right side of the photo.

Mickey came to the Yukon in the early days.

The photograph is from the Jim Robb collection.
