The Arctic Inspiration Prize (AIP) and Arctic Inspiration Youth Prize are back, searching for the most forward-thinking projects that bring meaningful change to northern communities. With up to $3.7 million available, this is your chance to turn your bold idea into action.
But these aren’t your typical prizes. They’re about more than recognition – they’re a launch pad. The prizes provide the seed funding and support that teams need to kickstart transformative projects. To apply, all you need is a vision, a committed team and the backing of your community.
Inspiring action across the North
Over the years, the AIP has championed initiatives that have left a lasting impact in communities across the North. It’s a testament to what’s possible when Northerners dream big and act boldly.

For instance, in 2024, Hebron and Nutak Reunions received a $298,000 award to provide an opportunity for able-bodied evictees to return to their homeland together. “It’s so amazing to be here and to have won this prize,” says the Hebron and Nutak Reunion team. “We’re bringing our elders home!”
Also, in 2024, Inotsiavik Centre was the winner of the $1 million top prize. The Nunutsiavik-based team, led by Inuit youth, is dedicated to increasing pride in Inuit identity through language and cultural revitalization.
"Winning this award is life-changing, not only for us as a team, but for all Nunatsiavummiut,” says the Inotsiavik team.
A prize by Northerners, for Northerners
“This prize isn’t about telling Northerners what to do. This prize is about supporting Northerners who already have solutions,” says Kluane Adamek (Aagé), Yukon Regional Chief, Assembly of First Nations.
Since its inception in 2012, the AIP has celebrated the creativity, resilience and ingenuity of the North. Over the past 12 years, the Prize has supported projects with $25.6 million in funding, empowering communities across the Arctic.
This is your moment!
Do you have a vision for a brighter future? Whether your idea focuses on education, culture, health, climate change, or another priority area, AIP can help make it happen.
