A mountain biker is safe after spending an evening on Grey Mountain.
A man called Whitehorse RCMP Monday night to say his friend had gotten lost on the mountain. His friend had been biking down the Cantlie Lake Road, but had turned off the road and gotten lost. The lost biker called his friend, who contacted the police.
Police went to the top of the mountain and were able to locate the man, but couldn’t get him down at the time. He spent the night on the mountain, and a helicopter rescued him Tuesday morning.
The police don’t usually get calls like this, said Const. Christine Grant with the Whitehorse detachment. There were no injuries, and drugs and alcohol were not a factor, she said.
