A Whitehorse man faces three counts of assault after several violent incidents in less than a week.

Police interrupted an assault in progress on the corner of Ogilvie Street and Second Avenue just before 11 a.m. Thursday morning.

The victim, who was not injured, did not know the assailant, said RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Mark Groves.

Earlier that morning, the man is alleged to have broken into a 55-year-old acquaintance’s house and beaten the occupent with a leg from a piece of furniture.

The man is also charged with assaulting a man on May 22.

Kevin Markus Pahtayken has been charged in the three attacks and will appear in court on June 10.

Pahtayken was recently released from jail on other charges. (James Munson)
