A good representation of the Colourful Five Per Cent is shown in this photograph taken at the Gold Pan Saloon in Whitehorse.

This picture was taken fairly recently.

From left to right are “Honest” Al and Jim Robb, both of Whitehorse, Rosie Butler of Dawson City and Whitehorse, and “Mad” Mike of Ross River. They are displaying fur of different types.

“Honest” Al is a truck driver. Robb is an artist. Rosie is now attending art school in Dawson City, and “Mad” Mike works on highway maintenance and is, I think, the fire chief in Ross River. He also traps when he can.

I am thinking if I put another book out, I’ll put them in my Out-To-Lunch section.

But seriously, they are all loved and respected by the crew around the Gold Pan Saloon.
