Driver slams into four cars
Monday February 8, 2010
A drunk driver smashed into four parked vehicles and a traffic sign before finally coming to a rest against a lamp pole on Saturday.
A 47-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving and uttering threats following his devastating joy ride through downtown Whitehorse, says an RCMP news release.
The man, who was driving a Ford Expedition, hit a Ford Mustang on Main Street just before noon. He then drove northbound up Fourth Avenue when he lost control.
After striking a sign, the driver collided with a Jeep, a Tercel and another Ford Expedition on Fourth Avenue. The driver hit a lamp post in the Extra Foods parking lot before being reported to police.
None of the vehicles were occupied when they were hit.
The man is scheduled to appear in court on March 31.
