Russ Carpenter holds an 11-kilogram rock that crashed through his roof in Lobird Trailer Park at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The rock was debris from blasting at the nearby Hamilton Boulevard extension project. Russ, his wife Candace, and daughter were watching TV when the projectile slammed through, narrowly missing them. It hit a chair, which flipped up and struck Candace in the arm and leg. The incident is under investigation.
