Too close for comfort
Friday January 27, 2012
Thank you for not killing me today, Wednesday, January 25.
My husband and daughters thank you and my three precious grandchildren also thank you.
A lady in a red SUV turned onto Strickland Street from Second Avenue and drove right at me on my side of the road. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid having a head-on collision with her. She was oblivious to the fact that I was even there. She didn’t even look in my direction to acknowledge I was there.
As you know, the weather was not very nice this day and I thank God I did not have an accident. The lady will know who I am as I am the flower delivery driver for Plantation Flowers and Gifts and was driving the delivery van at the time she came around the corner.
Please think of this as the winter goes along and slow down a little. Yes, I know we all have busy lives and I am definitely not the perfect driver, especially if you ask my husband. This incident upset me so much that I was compelled to write to the paper about it.
