Pulling together to feed our neighbours
Wednesday January 20, 2010
It’s the beginning of the new year and the Yukon Employee’s Union Local Y010 has remembered the Weekend Soup Kitchen once again with a generous cheque.
This has been our reminder to extend our sincere thanks to many individuals and organizations in Whitehorse who donate food, equipment, money or their time to support the soup kitchen that is run out of the basement of Sacred Heart Cathedral every Saturday and Sunday. The final act of handing out a bowl of soup and a sandwich is heavily supported by these silent, and often unknown, contributions.
This is another reason Whitehorse is a great place to live.
