I’ve been in the Whitehorse General Hospital emergency room at least 35 times in the last five years in order to get my prescriptions renewed.
I was recently told that each emergency room visit costs the Yukon government nearly $400. So the Yukon government would rather pay $14,000 for me to get my prescriptions renewed rather than recruit more diligently to satisfy the demand for general practitioners.
